Hobby: I love reading about issues and topics that interest such as international conflicts, crime, science & technology, etc. Fun fact: I always read an online article before I fall asleep otherwise I cannot sleep peacefully.
What is your favorite part about SDSU?
My favorite part of SDSU is the diversity of the student body and faculty. I love that I get to meet people from very different parts of the world, with different cultures and interests.
How has the Compact Scholars Program helped you throughout your college career?
The Compact Scholars Program and those who are part of it are my rock. It is reassuring and encouraging to know that there are people, other than my major advisers, who are there for me to guide me through my education.
Tell us about an experience you have had outside of class. (Job, internship, project, etc.)
I was 1 out of 10 students to be the firsts who participate in a semester-long study abroad program in the Republic of Georgia (Fall 2016). Four other girls and I decided to extend our stay for an extra semester in this untraditional yet exotic location. It was definitely an amazing experience and I don’t regret it at all.
What is your favorite class on campus and why?
My favorite classes on campus are all science laboratories in general. I love working hands-on and getting real experience, it is such a great feeling to go into a laboratory after having 3 lectures a week and being able to apply the knowledge into a real experiment by yourself or with a partner.
Are you involved in any organizations or clubs on campus?

What do you plan on doing after graduation?
After graduation I plan on applying to the Medical Physics graduate program either here at SDSU or somewhere else (though I’d love to stay local). Cancer is a disease that hits very close to home so I would love to work in an oncology department; I would like to research the biological changes that radiation and chemotherapy have on the human body.
What advice would you give to incoming freshmen?
Do not panic if you begin to dislike the major you chose when you first applied to college; it is totally okay to explore other fields. Do your research and choose wisely. If you have to invest in something, always choose your education; anything physical and material can always be taken away from you, but not your knowledge.
