Moving out & joining FOCUS (pre-optometry club), Andrea O’Donnel’s Womyn’s Outreach Association, and Alpha Phi Omega.
How has the Compact Scholars Program helped you throughout your college career?
Gave me a guaranteed acceptance and sense of inclusion with being part of the program.
Tell us about an experience you have had outside of class. (Job, internship, project, etc.)
I worked at Hollister at Otay Ranch then transferred to Abercrombie & Fitch at Fashion Valley when I moved out closer to school. I volunteered at Scripps Mercy Chula Vista and now I’m currently beginning my volunteering at UC San Diego’s Shiley Eye Institute.
What is your favorite class on campus and why?
My favorite class on campus is Women’s Studies because we get to learn about women’s history (other feminist topics) and I empathize with minority oppressions. This is stuff we didn’t learn in high school.
Are you involved in any organizations or clubs on campus?
FOCUS, WOA, and APO.
What do you plan on doing after graduation?
Applying to optometry school.
What advice would you give to incoming freshmen?
Utilize your resources and be grateful you got into this great school 🙂
