No matter the commute, go to EVERY class. Your grades will thank you!

The most essential piece of advice I have for incoming freshman commuter students is to stay on top of your work and go to class even if attendance isn’t mandatory. Being a commuter is more difficult than living on campus because it requires more time management.

As a commuter myself, I know you have to wake up earlier, be more organized and conscious of your time. Also, like I said, go to class! If you don’t it becomes a vicious cycle that is tough to break and usually results in a lower grade or failure. It is true that once you miss one class you’ll never want to go back. I did this at the end of the semester and now I am struggling because I hate watching online lectures. Just go to class, your GPA will thank you for it.
