My advice for incoming commuter freshmen is don’t be afraid.
The idea of college is already scary in high school, and seeing many new faces doesn’t help, but you need to overcome this fear. Be comfortable with the uncomfortable because college is a new and open space to express yourself. Find your place at SDSU.
At the beginning of the semester, I was lost and alone because most of my friends are in different colleges. Eventually, I ventured into meetings for new organizations and clubs. I have to say this is one of the best decisions I made because I found a place for me at SDSU and people who understand me. I am trying to say that just be who you are because there is a place for everyone at SDSU and once you find this belonging everything will change. I promise.
Oh, and remember to have fun!
