Trust me I learned real fast where my priorities needed to be and work was not one of them! Although it is important to get your foot in the door in the workforce, school should always come first as it is costing you thousands every year to attend and it’s not financially worth it to screw that one up. So if there is any advice I can give to incoming freshmen it is this, gauge where you are at with school a couple weeks in then decide if it is permissible to get a job. If you are extremely stressed out it can wait! I’m working two days a week now and there is plenty to buy lunch and dinner here and there. Not to mention being a commuter and putting gas in the tank. The key is to find balance. Good luck and work hard you can do it!
